How do I open a backed up video file in .MCG format?

Hi,
I recently purchased a DVR and CCTV camera after having my vehicle broken into several times. A few days ago the camera picked up someone trying get into my car again and I used the DVR’s back to DVD facility to save the footage.
The DVR backs up the footage in a format named .MCG and I am unable to find any information on how to open this file or play the footage back. I have tried putting the dvd disc back into the dvd drive of the dvr but there doesn’t appear to be the facility to play from disc.
Can anyone help.
